Provenance

We work with more than three hundred British farmers. These are contracted growers and we've had long term relationships with many of them stretching over three generations, handing down knowledge and expertise from generation to generation. Together, our aim is to continually improve the quality of what we do and raise the standard for our industry.

McCain is the biggest single customer for British potatoes

We source potatoes as close to our factories as possible, so we can reduce our food miles.

Everything is done to the highest standard

We know because we supply high quality seed and our field staff work with our growing partners to provide expert guidance every step of the way, from seed distribution, storage and planting through to lifting and delivery. Every crop is subject to constant testing and monitoring and has to meet the McCain quality standard before it can be accepted at our factories.

Our potatoes have full Assured Produce Status

We are leading supporters of the Assured Produce Scheme, which promotes sustainable, environmentally responsible farming within the UK.

Our farmers are independently audited under the Assured Produce Scheme. In addition, we also conduct our own audits on an ongoing basis to ensure our farmers are complying with the relevant guidelines.

And everything is traceable

Because of our unique growing relationships, stretching from seed to harvest, we know the field in which our potatoes were grown. We can call up the first report made when the planting began and see the field selection the growing conditions. We look after our products from the field to the fork.
