How to Cook
For best results cook from frozen.
Microwave
Cooking directions based on 1 portion (5 discs/185g) or 2 portions (10 discs/370g).
- Place required quantity of McCain Mash discs into a microwaveable bowl.
- Loosely cover with a microwaveable film.
- Using the guidelines below, cook on full power.
- 1 portion: 900W 3 mins 20 sec/1100W 3 mins/1300W 2 mins 50 sec/1500W 2 mins 30 sec/1700W 2 mins 10 sec/1900W 1 min 50 sec.
- 2 portions 900W 6 mins 40sec/1100W 5 mins 30 sec/1300W 5 mins/1500W 4 mins/1700W 4 mins/1900W 3 mins 30 sec.
- Stir half way through cooking.
- Select approporate time for your oven.
- For different power ovens, adjust time accordingly.
- All cooking appliances may vary in performance.
Industrial Ovens
Cooking directions based on 1 bag cooked in an industrial oven.
- Preheat oven, grease a large metal baking tin (approx. 500 x 300 x 90mm) ensuring the sides are well greased, (for steam oven do not grease baking tin).
- Place one bag of McCain Mash in an even layer, into the baking tin.
- Add 1 pint (568ml) of milk to the mash discs and cover with foil.
- Bake using the cooking guidelines shown.
- Remove the foil and stir well ensuring that the mash is piping hot throughout before serving.
