How to Cook
Cook from frozen of chilled.
Oven
- Preheat the oven and arrange your McCain Simply Potato Dice in a single layer onto a baking tray and place in the upper half of the oven.
- Bake until cooked through using the cooking guidelines shown.
- Turn occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Oven (with sunflower oil added to product)
For a crisper, more golden product apply 3 tablespoons of Sunflower oil to the tray and dice before cooking.
Chef's Solutions
For an easy, fast and lump free mash try the following:
Hob Cooking: - Place 2.5kg of Simply Potato Dice into a large saucepan and cover
with water, bring to the boil and cook for further 20 minutes or until soft enough to
fork through. Add milk and pepper to taste.
Steam Cooking: - Place 2.5kg of Simply Potato Dice into an oven proof tin and cover
with 1.5litres of water then place a lid on top of the tin. Cook @ 220°C with full
steam for 40 minutes from Frozen (30 minutes from Chilled) until soft enough to fork
through. Add milk and pepper to taste.
Or for more flavour try adding the following to a 2.5kg bag of Simply Potato Dice and
mix gently:
1 tbsp mixed herbs or
½ tbsp curry powder or
½ tbsp cajun or fajita spice

Do not overcook.
Cooking directions based on ½ bag/1.25kg of product.
For different quantities adjust cooking time accordingly.
If thawed do not refreeze.
