Chips' seal of approval

03/09/2007

Chip supplier McCain Foods is further highlighting its links with British farming, becoming the largest frozen food manufacturer to join the Red Tractor scheme.

From October, all McCain chips will carry the Red Tractor logo on pack. Earlier this year, McCain committed to sourcing 100 per cent British potatoes for all its chips. The company owns a British potato seed business which gives it full control of the crop.

Simon Eyles, McCain Marketing Director, said: "McCain has been a leading supporter of the scheme for many years and we are proud that our chips now have the Red Tractor logo on pack.

"It lets customers know that the potatoes used to produce McCain chips are grown to high quality standards."
