
Home-made blue cheese burgers with McCain Classics Southern Fried Lattice
Ingredients

1 beaten egg
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
75g fine dry bread crumbs
1 tsp prepared mustard
½ large onion
1 tsp mixed herb seasoning
1 tsp pepper
2 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
1 lb lean minced beef
4x 50g crumbled blue cheese
4 rolls of choice, split and toasted
600g McCain Classics Southern Fried Lattice
Hot Tomato Ketchup
1 lb large ripe tomatoes
1/4 pint white vinegar
150g sugar
1 tsp salt
2 red chilli peppers
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp allspice
Method
Main Dish
- In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine egg and Worcestershire sauce.
- Stir in breadcrumbs, mustard, pepper, garlic and seasoning. Add minced beef and mix well.
- Shape the meat mixture into 4x ¼ pounders.
- Place burgers on a grill. Turn after 5-6 minutes and cook on other side for same amount of time or until done. When almost ready, place the blue cheese on top and finish under the salamander until cheese starts to melt.
- Serve burgers on toasted buns with McCain Classics Southern Fried Lattice and homemade tomato ketchup.
Hot Tomato Ketchup
- Peel tomatoes and cut into small pieces.
- Chop peppers and add with all other ingredients to tomatoes.
- Cook over medium heat until mixture begins to turn dark, about 1 hour.
