The global hospitality industry plays a significant role in fostering a thriving and contented society. As a part of this bustling hub of activity, our commitment is to promote the continued expansion of this industry for generations to come. To this end, we have implemented several initiatives aimed at giving back and investing in its growth.
“Starting in the foodservice industry can be daunting, especially for those from less-advantaged backgrounds. To help tackle this, McCain Foodservice Solutions launched the Streets Ahead Programme in 2022, in partnership with street food organisation KERB.
The programme offers training to marginalised individuals, providing opportunities to bring their food business ideas to life. Streets Ahead aims to create real opportunities that encourages creativity in new operators. £100,000 has already been invested in new street food start-ups through this initiative.

We have always recognised the significance of giving back to communities in need. As a responsible corporate entity, we believe in being a part of something more significant than ourselves. One of the ways in which we aim to make a positive impact is by volunteering our time and resources and raising funds to support our communities.
We Support
200 million meals To food banks Around the world By 2025
FairShare do amazing work taking good quality surplus food and donating it to front line charities and community groups. Since 2013 McCain have donated over 1.3m meals to FairShare. We are now aiming for 200m meals donated by 2025 to support local communities and help those in need.
£1 Million Towards supporting Families raising Disabled Or Seriously Ill children
In 2021 McCain pledged to donate £1 million to support Family Fund. With the cost-of-living crisis bringing additional pressure to so many families across the country, we’ve pledged a further £300,000 to help those in need, Our donation will help boost the charity’s goal, which is to provide 150,000 grants and services each year by 2024.

Youth Education
Starting with our earliest years we believe in educating the newest generations. Our farmers are at the heart of our business and teaching our little ones about growing potatoes from a young age helps inspire and spark interest in the world of farming. That is why we’ve sponsored the Grow Your Own Potatoes Programme since 2005, which has seen over 6 million children take part in learning where potatoes come from.
In 2012, McCain launched an engineering apprenticeship programme for our young adults to ensure we have the best talent in place for the future. This has recently been extended to our office-based functions to further broaden the opportunities we offer. We now have apprentices across our UK sites, who are studying towards industry recognised qualifications, whilst gaining on-the-job experience.
