About McCain

At McCain, we believe good ethics is good business. It guides who we are, what we do and how we do it. The result is good food, simply made. In 1957, the McCain brothers founded our business in their hometown, Florenceville, Canada. Pioneers of the first frozen French Fry, they went on to become the world’s largest manufacturer of frozen potato products, with more than 40 production facilities across six continents.

As the UK’s largest purchaser of British potatoes, with close links to over 300 potato growers across the UK, we’re committed to ensuring quality right from the start of the supply chain. That’s why along with all our suppliers, McCain is a leading supporter of the Red Tractor Assurance Scheme. To read more about our relationship with our growers, head to our Meet the Farmers page.

McCain has built a strong presence in the UK frozen food industry over the past 45 years. As well as owning a household retail brand, our respected foodservice business works in partnership across the foodservice supply chain, working closely with distributors, chefs and caterers across the thousands of pubs, restaurants, hospitals and schools across the country.
